Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I hit Pizza by the Sea last night for the very first time. The evening was a perfect evening to eat outside with wonderful cooler temperatures. However, I must have hit this place on kids night. Not that kids are bad or anything. They are only bad when parents do not make them behave. This was my luck. There must have been 35 kids there last night and all of them were running around, screaming, skateboarding all around me, playing hula hoop, and running into the back of my chair. One child even spilled his marinara sauce that hit the ground and nearly splattered all over me. No one bothered to come around and clean it up and no one really seemed to care. The staff were all very young and I found the entire dining experience unnerving. The pizza was just okay as I found it to be a bit on the dry side. I ordered the White Veggie pizza. For a 16" pizza and two glasses of wine it cost me $23 and this was on a night that they were offering 50% off. I don't think I will rush to go back.

Nice employees, extremely kid friendly and very good pizza.

  • Diana C.

Decided to stop by here based on previous Yelp reviews. Yikes! The service was typical for the teenagers that were working the counter/kitchen. The Kickin Chicken pizza was good, but it was underdone. It was nothing special. This place is extremely kid friendly. Like, screaming children everywhere. I was also sweating during my experience here because of the door constantly opening and closing, letting all the AC out. Skip it!

    (2)
  • A H.

The pizza was OK. The crust is thin with about an inch and half of crust (which is flat) with nothings in it. We had the Kickin Chicken on one side and the Quadruple Bypass on the other $24.71. I liked the chicken but my husband didn't care for "his" side. He says there just isn't enough stuff on it.

Good to place visit if you're in the 30A area and want a break from the over-priced options. Fun, friendly atmosphere and kid friendly. We tried the Kickin' Chicken pizza. It was good, lots of feta and chicken and the pesto was really good. The bacon was just the right amount and my picky liked it a lot. I wish the toppings extended further out to the edge of the pie, but the crust is good, so it's was fine. We also had a pepperoni pizza and my wife liked it as well. And the kids spaghetti and meatballs for $5.99 was a bargain and thoroughly enjoyed. Lots of beer to choose from as well.

See the complaints, so I really studied my pizza this time around. Great crust with a little char on it? Check. Quality sauce, cheese? Yep. Canadian bacon and sliced Italian sausage? Perfect. So what to complain about? Well, for starters the place is small, and they can't handle much capacity. Soooooo...call in your pizza ahead of time. There's you a tip. Fantastic easy option in the fifth level of hell known as 30-A dining.

  • Brandon S.

I was legitimately excited about the Goat Cheese pizza I ordered. The supreme pizza I was given instead was fine too, I guess

Pizza by the sea is very good. I had some awesome pizza there. The crust is pretty fantastic.

BEST PIZZA EVER!!!! Every time we are in town we stop by. The first time I ever went here we had terrible service and so they have us 2 free pizza cards! One of the best restaurant decisions my family had ever made!!!

    (5)
  • Bart D.

Small cozy restaurant. I would recommend. Great thin crust similar to Mellow Mushroom crust (salt water likely). We had the Colby and I would recommend. They did burn our first pizza but offered up a free salad.

    (4)
  • Steve H.

I really don't understand the rave reviews. Pizza is below average and overpriced. I have no idea if there are other pizza joints around, though I would try and find one.

  • Mac M.

Was in Seacrest this past weekend and needed PIZZA. Saw this place (next to Publix) and liked their menu, so we took a shot. Ordered The Colby Special (swapped Mushroom for the Bacon), cooked 'Well', and it was AWESOME! BEST Thiner-crust (sorta New York-style) Pizza we've had in a LONG time! Also, THANK YOU to the young lady at the counter who so very kindly, and totally unexpectedly, acknowledged the service of Military personnel. You too are Greatly Appreciated!

Pizza By The Sea is a must have anytime I'm in the area. This time I tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza which was pretty tasty. I. always enjoy the service & atmosphere at this location. It can be busy at times. But, the wait time is usually pretty short. I'll for sure be back next time I'm in the area.

  • Kara P.

Ambiance is great. Service is as fast as you can get it for such a busy place. Love, love, love their pizzas! Cha Cha Chicken is generous with flavor and quantity of chicken. Just the right amount of spice. Spinach salad is awesomely fresh and the balsamic is so good, you don't care how many calories it has. Always visit here when we're in 30A. Will continue to make this our only pizza place every visit.

  • Brittany L.

Great delicious local pizza! It tastes much better than the chains and affordable. They are in a great location, in watercolor next to Publix and easily accessible from anywhere in Sea Grove! I love stopping here and picking up pizza when we are in 30-A. They also have super cute Tees!

  • Amanda M.

Stopped at this place on the way in to town for vacation and it was great. If you like a meaty pizza try the quadruple bypass...it was delicious. The kids loved the cheese pizza. Went back for lunch a couple days later and they had a great special. Large slice of pizza and salad, baked spaghetti, or a second slice of pizza for $7.99. Highly recommend!

    (4)
  • Andrew H.

A pretty awesome place overall. We got the spaghetti and meatball pizza, which was excellent. A medium was just enough for me, my wife, and 7 year old. Our pizza got stuck in the oven, and we had to wait an extra 5 minutes or so, and the waitstaff gave us a free drink; that kind of customer service always gets high marks from me. It is a little pricey, but for a unique, fresh, non-chain pizza, it was definitely worth it.

    (4)
  • Isaac E.

We got the chipotle pizza. It was good. It was too spicy for my wife, but I really enjoyed it. The place is overpriced, but on par for every other place in the area. Pizza was not out of this world, but above average. I'm not a huge fan of thinner crust, so there's that. The service always does it for me and they had great service. Outside seating was nice, and it's a really chill atmosphere. I would go again. If you're in the area, and want pizza, you should stop.

  • Matt C.

Awesome Pizza!! You have to try the meat lovers pizza--- it is awesome! And if you like a kick- add hot pepper!

    (5)
  • Toni P.

We liked it. Pizza was good and we had very good service. The staff was very accommodating and helpful and even brought out a high chair for our baby. The only odd thing was the full leaves of basil on the margherita pizza, we enjoyed the taste, just had to rip the leaves apart on our own. We just said it was interactive :) Very good though!

I think the toughest thing about this place for me is trying to decide what I should order!!! They have a great lunch special where you can pick 2 things from a list of pizza, baked spaghetti(I think), and salad. There may be something else on that list, but I can't remember. All I know is that our table ordered the meatball sub (which I could not even finish), and two pieces of the pizza-one cheese and one pepperoni. The pizza was seriously probably the best pizza I have ever eaten, hands down. But the meatball sub, oh that meatball sub. That's where the magic happened. For one, I thought it was a super cool idea to not have a top part of the bread for the sub, because it can get overly bready sometimes. It also just made the taste of the meatballs shine even more because they weren't completely overwhelmed by the bread. I ate mine with a knife and fork (cause I'm classy like that-- ;) ), and I can tell you, the meatballs were amazing. I wish I would've tried the baked spaghetti, but I already had to take home half of that sub and finish it later!!! I would definitely return here in the future. The atmosphere is super fun, and there's a Publix next door, so you can run out and get your groceries while you're out!

Such a cute place! We just got back from Pizza by the Sea and what a great experience! One of the reasons we came was for the gluten free pizza. I do not have celiacs disease, however I have cut it out for other reasons. I got the 10" GF white pizza which has EVOO, mozzarella, ricotta and feta; which I didn't expect. I added some spinach and tomatoes and you can really tell that all of the ingredients are fresh! My husband got the same thing only regular crust. I ate about 3/4 of mine and just had to have one more piece. Mine actually had a crispier crust than the regular crust; a nice surprise! The staff there is so friendly and helpful. It is a family friendly place, complete with a changing table in the restroom (not something we need right now) and the decorated pie pan walls with kids' creative artwork. Luckily we got the last table and it was even late in the evening; 8:30. And what better way to end the meal than with a GF chocolate cookie. We will surely be back!

  • Tommy J.

Great pizza!! Unique taste. TIP: don't go during the last 30-45 minutes of business. The staff WILL give you "that look" and let you know your welcome is running dry!

Got the meat lovers equivalent and it was excellent. The sauce was perfectly seasoned and the toppings had great flavor. In addition, the price was reasonable. Cute cashier was very nice.

  • Maribeth T.

One of my favorite pizzas is the doggie breath (pepperoni, garlic & red onion). So delicious. Have a few family members that are fans of the gluten-free items. This is one of my 30-A must haves when in the area (doggie breath). Be warned that during peak times pick up orders can take upwards of 2 hours to get so plan ahead!

  • Dz B.

Fun place and good pizza. Get there early and don't be in a hurry. They get very crowded.

    (4)
  • Justin H.

The ambiance of the restaraunt is really nice with outdoor seating. The wait is really long and takes a while to get your food...better to do carry-out. Pizza is really greasy but still tastes good.

    (3)
  • Rob T.

I've had a lot of pizza in my day, but the Kickin Chicken and Doggie Breath pizzas may be the best I've ever had. No kidding. If you love garlic, get the Doggie Breath.

    (5)
  • Laura B.

Delicious pizza! We ordered the Billy Goats Yum and it was yum! I took away a star because the salad left much to be desired and the staff couldn't tell me what was in the Greek dressing. Stick with the pizza, skip the salad.

    (4)
  • Pearl P.

ATTN GLUTEN FREE pizza seekers. Stop seeking. This is hands down the best one in the area. It only comes in one small size, which is typical, but it's delicious and crispy! There are only a couple of places in the area that serve GFree pizza and this is the only one worth it!

Well after reading all the great reviews, we gave this place a try while staying at a beach house with 3 kids. The place sounded great; thing crust, great for kids and close to where we were staying. We ordered the garlic twisty bread sticks, a medium cheese pizza and a bbq chicken pizza. The lady at the counter was extremely friendly. She promptly brought out the bread sticks first and they were great! kind of doughy, with garlic and parmesian cheese. Then the pizza's came out. These thing's made Totino's look good. The cheese was not stringy at all, it just lumped on there. That tells me immediately it's cheap cheese, yet they charge 13.00 for a medium like its primo stuff. The taste was awful too, even one of the kids wouldn't eat it (after tasting, I couldn't blame them). Our bbq pizza wasn't much better. The topping were just sitting on top as if they had a lot of cheese pizza's already made and just reheated with the toppings you wished. The crust which makes or breaks a pizza was the worst part. The crust resembled a fried won ton...weird. They were obviously not freshly tossed like a real pizzeria should be. Overall not very good, but hey if you are on the beach and had a few beer, I guess it could be worse. At least the counter lady/waitress was friendly.

  • False R.

Pizza is excellent, salad is great, and the yum bowls are delicious. I do recommend ordering early though as the tourists can slam the place.

  • Gale B.

stopped here after seeing reviews on Yelp. I was born and raised in PA where the pizza joints were run by NYC ex-pats (well...they "used" to be) and lived in Philly for a bit so I know what a good pizza tastes like. I got the pizza Margherita and was pretty disappointed...especially when the price is considered. It was better than chain pizza..but then what isn't? I suppose the best part was the crust but the rest of the ingredients were run of the mill. Just not the kind of place I'd want to eat at twice.

  • Joel W.

Place is busy, teens running it. But overall good pizza. Ingredients taste fresh, crust is thin and crispy(the way I like it) Got the pepperoni rolls for an appetizer, kids loved them. We got it to go and called in the order ahead which I recommend. Eat in area is kinda small and busy.

    (4)
  • Jeremy H.

I'm barely giving them a four, and that's only because of the pepperoni rolls. The restaurant is way too small, if you eat inside lines of people ordering and picking up will walk into you, keep you from moving your chair back or getting up from the table, and most annoyingly smack you with their giant purses and bags. I think the success of this place has more to do with being in the right location, next to Publix, than with the food. I've never seen a line so long as I did in that Publix, probably 200 yards, wrapped all the way back through the store on turn day. I think people know this so they order pizza, go shopping, then pick it up. The pizza wasn't all that great....crust was decent. If I was to rate this place on regular pizza like pepperoni, mushroom and onion....2 stars, maybe 3 when you factor in the poor layout and that they are in way too small of a location. The speciality pizzas maybe earn a 3 star review. The only reason I'm giving them 4 is because of the pepperoni rolls...man were they good, some of the best I've ever had. They were small and you didn't get a lot for your money, but they were really good. In fact it would be the only thing I would get if I visited again. The red dipping sauce was excellent but unfortunately none of my three pizzas had any on it which was odd. They do have gluten free pizzas but if you have an allergy I would question the method in which it was prepared, I don't think they keep separate trays for the allergy people to cook with, it's more for the fad dieters than people with allergies.

  • TJ H.

The pizza was ok. We had the kickin chicken. Crust was the highlight, but the chicken tasted like sysco or tyson premade. The guy that runs the place is a complete JERK. Here's the problem... I ordered togo on the phone, when I arrived I paid with a credit card. I did not tip (because it's to-go and it's a counter service pizza joint). The guy that runs the place (tall with a big curly haired afro) said they would be ready in about 10 minutes. So I went next door to Publix, to get Milk for the kids. 10 minutes later I went inside. There were two pizza boxes sitting on top of the oven with a ticket hanging on them. I waited another 10 minutes and the guy said mine would be right out. Eventually they pulled a pizza out of the oven and boxed it up. They moved the two other boxes over and put the new one on top of the oven. Then they called my name. Those two pizzas were mine... clearly they were being Jerks because I didn't tip (thats another discussion). If they think people should tip, add a fee to the ticket. I will not be going back. When we got home the pizzas were ok and obviously not hot.

  • Food T.

A few years ago, the pizza at this place was much better. Unfortunately, the sign that says 'fresh ingredients' is only marketing. Think veggies in a can and meat that's Highly Processed and Filled with Preservatives. Nothing fresh about it. The dough is not even made at the location. NOT healthy at all! Until they return to making the food themselves, put your dollars in other places that serve real food.

The fine folks at Pizza by the Sea make the best thin-crust pizza our family has ever had! Any time we come to Seacrest Beach, we make certain we stop in for a great meal!

We stopped in last night on the recommendation of the owners of the condo we're renting...boy am I glad we did! The service and food were terrific as was the atmosphere! We had the buffalo chicken pizza (it's spicey but yummy!) and our kids built their own pizza! The boy at the register and taking orders was extremely polite and helpful! I'm not usually a thin crust pizza gal, but loved it! My kids want to go back again tonight!

Been ordering from here for a couple years now when in town, and the pizza is excellent. I don't say this often, but the crust is absolutely perfect. My personal favorite are the buffalo chicken and great white pizzas.

  • B P.

Crew not overly concerned with your food after you have ordered and paid. Found the pizza to be pretty good, after reheating it back at the condo. Got there right before they got busy, perfect timing. Ordered to go, sitting outside at a table waiting, check in after about 15 minutes, was told it would be about 7 minutes.....25 minutes later, after no call to pick up order, I had to stand in a line about 6 deep to get anyone's attention and ask about my pizzas, sure enough, they were done, sitting on top of the oven. Lukewarm after the 5 minute drive to our condo.. Had the buffalo chicken pizza, small cheese for the kids, and twisted breadsticks, all were good after reheating, requested and repeated request for no green peppers while ordering, pizza came covered in green peppers.... Like the pies, but service needs improvement. Would visit again, believe in visiting a place with good food more than once, maybe someone was having a bad day, maybe they were short staffed, etc... Would have also been nice to have found a menu online....

Intrepid tourists that we are, we got lost. And happily found ourselves driving past this unassuming pizza joint. We had the house salad (tasty), the twisted bread sticks (nummy) and the margarita pizza (yum!). The crust was thin and chewy, just how it should be. My only complaint is I like my margarita pizza with a bit of a sweet tomato sauce, rather than just sliced tomatoes. The restaurant was packed and pretty noisy, but our waitress was great. Check it out if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!

One word: Yummy! All day every day. This pizza is "last meal request" good. Owners do charity stuff through the restaurant, too.

We opted for takeout pizza from here one night. We went with the Colby Special, a pizza featuring bacon, pepperoni, and feta. The flavors and ingredients were pretty decent, but not amazing. Unfortunately, the crust was a little too crispy...probably because it was a little burnt. I like pizza with some char on it but this went a little beyond a good char in parts and, even if it wasn't overcooked, the whole crust seemed like it would be a little too cracker-y for my liking anyway. That's just a personal preference though. Overall, it was better than I would expect for the beach, but I don't think it would necessarily stand out elsewhere. 3

Had a wonderful 1/2 cheese, 1/2 spinach, garlic and feta. The crust is thin and flaky and the sauce just zesty enough but doesn't weigh the pizza down. Fun and vibrant atmosphere and very friendly staff. Kid friendly with indoor or outdoor seating.

Just moved here in April and was told to try Pizza by the Sea. Went there July 3rd and the service leaved a bit to be desired. Not friendly or personable at all. No "thank you" or anything. I will be taking my business back to Bruno's where the employee's are always happy to see people walk thru their door and quite honestly, their pizza is much better.

First night in Watercolor and we thought we'd grab a quick bite before grocery shopping. HOOORIBLE experience. Ordered 2 basic pizzas (pepperoni on one and cheese on the other) it took over one hour to get ONE pizza. Asked the kid behind the counter to check the status of our order and he proceeds to tell me how under staffed they are and how the mgr is considering closing the doors. Their staffing....not my problem. I asked for a refund (so I could take my 4 kids somewhere else) and a culinary miracle happened and I got one of the 2 pizzas I ordered! Too bad the pizzas were tasty....or we're we just that hungry? I don't know. What I do know is I will never go back.
